"Lots of rain the last part of January...
however, harvest continued at a slow pace....markets did not improve.

While things slowed in the fields, because of the wet conditions, the guys in the shop worked quickly to build our float for the ANNUAL CARROT CARNIVAL PARADE.  Raul Cortez our planting supervisor took charge of the design...The theme this year was "A FIELD OF DREAMS."  The detailed art work was incredible...Thanks to FRANCISCO GARCIA, when not painting he is a helper in the planting department.



 

Riding on the float, while dreaming in the fields were Blaze Vessey and Lane Garcia.  They got to ride on the float because they wanted to and Grandpa can’t say NO!  Also riding was Lane’s pal Sadie Allegranza.

Blaze was waving with both hands all through the parade....when asked why he was waving with both hands, he replied, "Because there are people on both sides of the street."
